Roger Nygard is an award-winning director, author, and documentary filmmaker best known for his work on The Truth About Marriage, Cut to the Monkey, The Relationship Place, and Six Days in Roswell.

His book and documentary “The Truth About Marriage” examines why relationships are so darn hard for everybody and how we can make them better–and the book also includes wisdom from experts such as Pat Allen, William Doherty, and John & Julie Gottman.

Roger has directed TV series such as “The Office” and “The Bernie Mac Show” and has edited Emmy-nominated episodes of “Who is America?” “VEEP” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” Nygard has made several award-winning films, including the car-salesman comedy, “Suckers,” and he has probed UFO fanatics in “Six Days In Roswell,” and “Star Trek” fans in “Trekkies,” and existentialism in “The Nature of Existence.”

Here is what to expect on this week’s show:
– Why is it that no one teaches us how to have successful relationships?
– Roger’s struggles with his own relationships before focusing on the hardships for his documentary.
– What the most important things to know are in order to have a successful relationship, according to The Gottman Method.
– If the environment in which a couple lives affects the success of their relationship.
